Guide to Hokkaido (北海道) – Pt. 1

guide to hokkaido

Even though Hokkaido is a plane ride away from Narita (where we land), we were still drawn to the ideas of fresh seafood, scenic views, road trips and onsen resorts while planning for the trip. So my friends and I decided to spend 7 days in Hokkaido. Turns out, it was the best decision ever! Hokkaido has got to be one of my favourite places in Japan.

If you are looking for new hotels for staycation in Singapore, One Farrer Hotel & Spa is one that you should definitely consider! This new 5-star hotel, located in the middle of a rich heritage enclave, boasts a rather novel “hotels-within-a-hotel” concept. Guide to Narita (成田)

DSC_03142

Narita is a popular transit destination for international travellers going to Tokyo. However, few would choose to spend some time in Narita before heading to Tokyo. The only reason why my friends and I decided to spend 2 days in Narita was because we had some time to kill before our flight to Hokkaido. It was only after doing some research that we realised what Narita had to offer. Guide to Narita (成田)

Guide to Bali

Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 1.04.29 am

Before the start of my last semester in University, I decided to take a 4 days trip to Bali during Recess week with my family. Although that means I had to do some work while I was there, it was definitely worth it! To be honest I was quite apprehensive about the trip initially because I heard many mixed reviews about the place. Some people found their experience in Bali amazing but some felt that it was a disappointment. After the trip I’m glad that I belong to the former category.

Paris Top 10 Cafes – Must Visit Places in Paris 1

As mentioned in my previous post on Brussels, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to go on a 6 months exchange program to Paris. So the first thing that I did in preparation for my Paris trip was to come up with my very own list of Parisian Cafes to visit. Mainly because like many others, I am a HUGE fan of cafes. I love how the smell of freshly brewed coffee fills the air and how many cafes provide a calming and conducive environment for catching up, writing and even studying. Parisian Cafes seem to sound even better with the subtle romantic ring to it. During the 6 months that I was in Paris, I spent a substantial amount of my free time in cafes. Each of the cafes that I visited were unique in their own ways. However, if you are visiting Paris for a short time and have no time to visit that many cafes or have no idea where to start, my carefully curated list of Paris Top 10 Cafes will be useful.
